Mini Treat Bag

I love going to my downline meetings every month. We swap cards, make projects, and have a great time visiting with each other. I'm always amazed at their creativity too. Check out this great project that Elaine provided at our last meeting.

Isn't it cute? The bag was cut out using the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits in the Occasions mini catalog. The best thing about this new Thinlit set is that it contains 10 additional dies to make decorating the bags a breeze. The heart, the word "enjoy", and the banner are all dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit set.

Once the heart was cut out, I added a piece of Window Sheet behind it to cover the hole. That way the candy doesn't fall out and you can see the goodies inside the bag. I finished the bag by adding a piece of ribbon around the top and then filled it with candy. Super quick and easy.

Best Day Ever

Don't you just love getting stuff for free? I do! As I mentioned yesterday, I got to choose lots of free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog when I placed my recent order.

As soon as I saw the Best Year Ever products in the Sale-a-bration catalog, I knew I needed to get them. Here's what I made.

I got the stamp set, the Designer Series Paper, the button assortment, and all three ribbons for FREE! I *love* Sale-a-bration! I stamped my sentiment in Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White card stock and cut it out using the Ovals Framelits. I layered it on a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock that I had cut out using the next larger oval die. It's a little difficult to see in the photo, but I took a Paper Piercer and punched holes all around the edge of the Coastal Cabana oval.

I stamped each of the flowers twice in the three different colors and then cut them out by hand. I layered the two flowers of the same color on top of each other (off-setting them) and finished the center with a button.

For the bow, I used a piece of Coastal Cabana ribbon and wrapped it around the Calypso Coral layer. I tied it once in a knot. Before I tied it a second time, I added a small piece of the Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry ribbon.

The inside of the card is very simple. I rounded all of the corners of the card with the Project Life Corner Punch. I think it gives the card a much softer look.

Hello Life

It has been a while since I've posted on my blog, but I'm still here! I've placed a huge order from the new Occasions Catalog which means I also got lots of free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog. I have lots of new stamps, papers, embossing folders, etc. to play with. I've been having quite a bit of fun. I've forgotten how therapeutic stamping can be.

Whenever it's been a while since I've stamped, I like to start by making something simple. I started with the Hello Life stamp set and made this quick card.

The card measures 4 1/4" square. I love the way the Happy Heart Embossing Folder looks on this card. I stamped the two hearts in Real Red ink on Whisper White paper and then cut them out by hand. I wish we had a coordinating punch to go with it. I've gotten spoiled with all of the punches and Big Shot dies we have. I popped both of the hearts up on dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment, added some ribbon and rhinestones, and then attached the center panel to the Real Red card base using dimensionals.

The inside of the card is simple as well. I didn't want to leave the Whisper White layer completely blank so I stamped the wavy line with the heart to tie it in with the card front. Very quick and simple.
