It's hard to get in the mood for fall when it's 97 degrees outside. I love fall. I love the colors, the smells, the holidays, the baking, all of it. I just wish the weather would cooperate and turn a little colder. We desperately need the rain that fall/winter brings to help us get out of the drought. Even though the weather isn't cooperating, I'm still making fall cards while longing for cooler, rainy days.
I started with this great sketch and my new For All Things stamp set.
Years ago when I first signed up to be a demonstrator, Stampin' Up! had several watercolor style stamp sets. I'm happy to see that they are slowly making a come back. I love the look of the watercolored rectangle that's stamped behind the plant. It helped fill in the blank space without being a distraction to the plant.
I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder on a piece of Soft Suede card stock and layered it behind the Very Vanilla oval. It adds a nice outdoors/fall look to the card. I finished the card with a piece of Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon.
I kept a similar look for the inside of the card. Here you can better see the Color Me Autumn DSP. I used the colors from the DSP as my color palette for the card. Whenever I have a great sketch and a nice color combination to work with, I find that my cards go together very quickly.
I'd love to know...Where do you get your inspiration from?
I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
