I have the sweetest blog readers. I was so touched by all of the kind comments and emails you sent about my brother being home. Thank you for your support of my brother and all of our troops at home or abroad.
I hope you had a fun Halloween weekend. I was on the run all day with the school fundraiser, classroom Halloween parties, and watching the Halloween parade. Then I took my three youngest children trick-or-treating while my husband and son passed out candy in the spook alley they created. My son got such a kick out of scaring people. He was dressed in a long black flowing robe with a hood covering his head and face. He had these long bony looking gloves that he wore and he was holding a scythe. He stood very still off to the side as people came and they thought he was part of the decorations. Then when they were getting their candy he would walk up and stand right behind them. Of course they'd turn around and holler. He thought that was pretty fun.
Anyway, on to the card. I thought I'd give Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge a try.
This is such a simple, classy layout. I started with the Maine Blueberry designer series paper and pulled my color scheme from there. I always struggle with color combinations so I let my designer series paper do the work for me.
I stamped the large flower from the Eastern Blooms stamp set on Whisper White cardstock with Not Quite Navy ink and cut it out. I layered it on top of my scalloped medallion. I punched out a 1/2" circle from Old Olive cardstock and adhered it to the middle of my flower image. I put the small Filigree designer flower on top and used a silver brad to hold all of it together. I attached it to my card using dimensionals.
Of course I added lots of paper piercing to my card. I pierced all of the scallops from the Scallop Edge punch and the Scallop Circle punch. I also added a row of piercing around all four edges of the green DSP.
As you can see, I made this into a Thank You card. I have so many thank you cards that I need to send out, so I'll be making lots more of this card. I better get going so I can get these in the mail asap.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic Monday! ~Dannie
