Sizzix Scalloped Note Card

Today I've been playing with my Sizzix Big Shot.  Do you want to see what I made with the Scalloped Circle #2 die?



A scalloped circle card!  Here's how I made it.  I stared with a 7 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of Not Quite Navy cardtsock.  I folded it in half and placed it on the Scalloped Circle #2 die as shown in the picture below.



I placed the piece of cardstock so it covered the entire larger scalloped circle (there are two scalloped circles on this die) *except* for the tips of two of the scallops.  Make sure it's the folded edge of your cardstock that's right below the two scalloped tips.  Here's a closer look.



The scallops were so faint in the photo that I drew white lines over them so you could see them better.  Now you see why I'm a rubber stamper--because I can't draw to save my life.  Drawing on the computer is even more difficult for me.  So imagine that the white lines are two nicely rounded scallops on the die. 

Once you have your cardstock positioned correctly, sandwich the die and cardstock between two cutting plates and roll it through the Big Shot.  Your card will now look like this when you're finished.



The two "flat" scallops at the top are the folded edge of your card that hold the front and back together. 



I tied some Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla double-sided satin ribbon around the "flat" scallops.  I stamped the stem image in Kiwi Kiss on Very Vanilla cardstock, added the sentiment, and punched it out with the new 1 3/4" circle punch.  I used my Coluzzle to cut the other two circle layers. 

The finished card is about 3 1/2" wide.  While it won't fit in a standard envelope, it would make a great card to put on top of a plate of goodies or a tag on a gift bag.
