Friday I received all of the Control Freak swap cards in the mail. The cards are all amazing! Now that all of the participants have received their cards, I can show you what I made.
I signed up to use the Wow Flowers stamp set. It coordinates beautifully with the Flower Power Simply Sent Kit so I decided to use that too. I love the color combination used in this kit. They are definitely colors I wouldn't have thought of putting together on my own, but they're gorgeous together. I also really like the striped designer series paper that comes in the kit.
For the ribbon I took a piece of More Mustard ribbon and tied a single knot in the middle. I slid a piece of Elegant Eggplant ribbon through the knot and then pulled it tight.
Each scalloped circle is made of six different punches layered on top of each other. I was thrilled to find that the flower inside the "happy birthday" stamp fits perfectly in our Boho Blossom punch. I wanted to pop the flower up on a dimensional, but I didn't want to have to cut each one out by hand. Thank goodness Stampin' Up! coordinates their products together. It saved me so much time.
As you can see, I paper pierced holes in each of the scalloped circles as well as in the scalloped edge that runs down the side of the designer series paper. I think paper piercing adds a nice finishing touch to cards.
I need to run. I hope you have a wonderful Monday. As always, thanks for stopping by! ~Dannie
