As much as I love sketch challenges, I can't always get around to all of them. I keep the sketches on hand for later when I need a little creative boost. One of the sketches I have stashed away is this sketch challenge of Taylor's.
It took me some time to figure out what stamps and paper I wanted to use, but I finally came up with this.
I love this Afternoon Tea designer series paper. The colors are beautiful together. I'm going to miss them when these In Colors retire.
One of the hardest things for me was determining the size of all those little squares. All four of the Chocolate Chip background squares are 1 1/2". The Groovy Guava colored DSP layered on top of them is 1 3/8" square.
For the central floral image, the Chocolate Chip square is 1 3/4" followed by a layer of Groovy Guava cardstock that is 1 5/8" square, then a layer of Soft Sky that is 1 1/2" square. I know other measurements will work, but that's what I used. I thought I'd share them with you in case you were struggling with that as well.
I stamped the stems from the flower image in Old Olive ink on the Soft Sky cardstock. I colored the flowers with Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip and stamped them on some Whisper White cardstock. I cut them out and adhered them using dimensionals .
I added paper piercing around the edges of all four background squares as well as on the scalloped circle. I finished my card with some Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon and some Chocolate Chip Poly-twill Ribbon.
I hope you have a wonderful day. I'm looking forward to my stamp class tonight. We'll be making these Simply Scrappin' Wall Hangings.
