My parents are always the most difficult people to shop for at Christmas time. They truly don't need anything from a store. Then it dawned on me...they can never get enough of their grandchildren. Now I try to make sure that they get photos of my children for Christmas. It's a simple gift for me to put together and it means so much to them.
In addition to getting a scrapbook, I'm making photo ornaments (thanks Molli Frey for the idea!).
I used the Fall Flowers DSP on this ornament to match some great photos of my children in the pumpkin patch. I still need to get the photos developed though. I still have time! Once I have the photo added, I'm going to finish off the ornament with some eyelets and some cording so it can hang from the tree.
This ornament is a simple origami fold and the directions can be found here. I started with an 8" x 8" piece of DSP. The finished ornament is 4" x 4" and the opening for the photo is 2" x 2".
If you don't want to add a photo, you can stamp a sentiment and put it inside the ornament instead. You can even make two of these and glue them back-to-back to make it double-sided. I think I'm going to add my cording to one of the corners so it hangs like a diamond rather than a square. There are so many possibilities with these. Have fun!
