I have to admit that when I first saw the Simply Adorned necklaces that Stampin' Up! sells, I wasn't sure if I'd like them or not. I broke down the other day and bought one and I *love* it! Just like everything Stampin' Up! sells, it is made extremely well and is top quality. I got right to work and in a matter of a few minutes I had three different designs for my necklace.
The photo looks huge, but this is the 1 1/2" x 2" necklace. I used the Very Vintage wheel with Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I also sponged the edges of the cardstock with Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the "D" on a separate piece of cardstock with Cherry Cobbler ink, cut it out and popped it up on a dimensional.
That's one thing I love about these necklaces...you can add a little bit of dimension to them and they still fit.
See? I was even able to add a rhinestone to the heart and it closed perfectly. I made this one using Love Letter DSP, a small piece of Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, and a heart from the Heart to Heart punch.
For this last necklace design I pushed my luck a little bit. I was trying to create a bouquet of flowers from the pretties kit. These flowers come with a stem and a little ball (for lack of a better word) that sits in the center of each flower. When I closed the glass on this one, the center of each flower got crushed. They were obviously too thick, but the ribbon fit! All of the flowers are mounted on a piece of Elegant Soiree DSP.
I can already tell that I'm going to be having fun making different designs throughout the year to wear in my necklace. Thanks so much for stopping by!
