I've been going through items on my stamping desk and I have a small box full of partially stamped items, punched out flowers, cards I started and never finished, etc. My goal is to start using up some of these items and turn them into a finished product. I took this darling heart that was just collecting dust on my desk and turned it into this card.
Can you believe the embossed piece of Very Vanilla card stock was in that pile too? It feels so good using these things up and making cards with them.
The small hearts were cut out using the smallest heart from the Hearts Framelits Collection. The Eggplant Envy hearts are glued directly to the paper, but the Cherry Cobbler hearts are popped up on dimensionals. I took a picture of the card at an angle, but if you look at it head on you'll see that the hearts are even spaced. I'm too anal for them not to be. It just looks off because the Cherry Cobbler hearts are on dimensionals.
TIP: If you're trying to line up five hearts or shapes across the front of a card, start with the two outside hearts first (the purple ones on the far left and far right). Next, place the center heart in place by dividing the space between the first and last heart in half. Last, add hearts two and four in place by centering them between the purple hearts on either side. That way you're not gluing down hearts and then trying to peel them off your card because they aren't evenly spaced.
It wasn't until I was done making this card that I realized that the sentiment was stamped on Whisper White card stock and I used Very Vanilla card stock for the rest of the card. Do you think it's bad to mix Very Vanilla and Whisper White? I would fix it, but I honestly have no idea what stamp set this sentiment came from. Do you know? I've looked through so many of my stamp sets, but I can't find it. Thank you Brenda, it's the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.
The inside of the card mimics the look on the front. For these hearts, however, I glued all of them flat so my card would close nicely.
Thank you for any help you can give me on naming this stamp set I used. It's been gathering dust for a while so who knows when I made it. Thanks for stopping by!
