Today I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of my new catalog preorder. I can't wait to play with the new In Colors, new stamps, new ribbon, and beautiful new DSP. I've looked through the new catalog and it is gorgeous! I think this is the best catalog Stampin' Up! has put together yet (and I've been using their products for 17 years now). The catalog shows which stamp sets, DSP, Embossing Folders, etc. work well together to make sure that your projects coordinate beautifully. They also lay out great color combinations so you don't have to struggle coming up with which colors to use together. Several of the pages show stamping techniques as well. If you don't have a copy of the new catalog, contact me to get one (Dannie@DanniesDesigns.com).
While I'm waiting for the UPS truck to get here, of course I'm stamping.
The DSP and the Twine are both from the Sweet Sorbet Suite from Sale-a-bration. I just got the DSP the other day (it was on backorder) so this is the first chance I've had to play with it. For the twine, I simply wrapped it around the edge of the Basic Black layer of card stock and taped it on the back. Then I tied a bow with both pieces of twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit to add the scallops on the Basic Black layer beneath the twine bow.
I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White card stock and cut it out using the Circles Framelits. I also sponged some Pool Party ink around the edges. I stamped the flowers and then punched them out using the coordinating Petite Petals Punch. I also punched out a flower image from the coordinating color of card stock and layered it behind each of the flowers. The two layers are held together by a Basic Black Brad. I adhered them to the sentiment using Dimensionals.
Remember the large scallops on the Basic Black layer on the front of the card? Well, when you cut the scallops out, you're left with a series of pointy peaks on the other piece of card stock. I decided to use the pointy peak layer behind the DSP for the inside of the card. I hope that makes sense.
Well, I'm off to go stalk the UPS man. Thanks for stopping by!
