Now that I've had a chance to unpack everything from convention, I've started working on my Make and Take projects. I know, I should have done them in Salt Lake but I didn't have the time. I have lots of family and friends in the Salt Lake Valley that I got to visit with while I was out there for convention. I only get to see them once a year and I figured the stamping could wait until I got home.
This year we had five fun projects to make. I have broken them up into three groups for two reasons. First, they feature three different stamp sets so I thought I would showcase them by stamp set. Second, as I mentioned before, I don't have them all done so I couldn't post them all together even if I wanted to!
The cards I want to show you today feature the Affection Collection stamp set.
This is probably the easiest project they had us make. The stamped images are stamped one on top of the other from the lightest color to the darkest. The ribbon image in the top right corner was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, cut out, and then stapled to the card. The heart/wings image was stamped once on the Whisper White card stock on the front of the card and then stamped again on a scrap piece of paper. I used the small heart punch to punch out the heart from the scrap piece of card stock and then I adhered it to the card front using a dimensional. I finished the card with some Rhinestones and a piece of scalloped Early Espresso card stock.
This second project has a fabric flower and a flag tucked inside of a pouch. To make the pouch, start with a 4" x 12" piece of Natural Composition Specialty DSP. Score it at 4" and 4 1/2".
Take 24" of ribbon and tie it in a bow around the DSP as seen in the photo above. Punch a 1/2" circle in the top right corner of the DSP.
Fold the DSP on the two score lines and tuck the end of the DSP under the ribbon to hold it in place. Tuck the dowels from the Fabric Flower and the flag into the 1/2" circle and it's finished. I will post a tutorial on how to make the Fabric Flower next week. I wasn't quite pleased with how mine turned out so I'd like to experiment around and see if there's an easier way to do it. I'll be sure to pass all of those tips on to you.
Well, back to stamping and finishing up the next projects to share with you. Thanks for stopping by!
